Co-Lab is a VR collaborative work tool that allows users to meet and work together in one space.
As the result of a five-week VR workshop with Paul Hoover, UX Designer at Artefact, my team member Olin Nespor and I decided to create a basic work tool that could be accessible to all occupations and useful to any user. This workshop was our first introduction to VR, and we saw that we had the opportunity to create a VR space that could hold the most positive impact.
Co-Lab is a VR basic work tool. Users can set up meetings in the space to share files and work on them together. It's basically Google Drive but in virtual reality. During a meeting, all of the users occupy the center of the space, so everyone has the same vantage point. To view around the space, users would only need to turn laterally. With this tool, anyone can work collaboratively instantly regardless of the geographical distance.
The demo we created serves as a high-fidelity wireframe for our product. The video was shot in Storyboard VR and superimposed in After Effects.
